Michelin-starred chef Drew Deckman had aimed to recreate the appeal of his acclaimed Valle de Guadalupe restaurant in San Diego, but the North Park venture never found its footing. Its quick exit shows how hard it can be to move a destination-dining concept into an urban storefront.
Deckman's North Park Closes Despite High-Profile Backing
The restaurant drew significant media attention, occupied a two-story space and counted athlete Joe Musgrove among its investors. It also earned a favorable San Diego Magazine feature published only last month.
