Fireaway pizza launches grassroots football kit contest
Fireaway pizza has launched its Champions of the Future competition, offering UK grassroots football teams up to £1,000 for new kits. Read how to enter.
BOURNEMOUTH, England, June 16, 2026 — Pizza franchise Fireaway has launched a kit sponsorship competition for grassroots football teams across the UK. The scheme, called Champions of the Future, offers funding for new kits, with a top prize of £1,000.
The competition extends a community programme through which the chain which bills itself as the UK's fastest-growing pizza franchise already backs several amateur clubs. It ties the brand to grassroots sport at a time when many local teams struggle to fund kit and equipment.
How the Fireaway pizza competition works
First place receives £1,000 toward kits, second place £500, and third place a £100 Fireaway voucher for a team lunch. Teams enter by completing a form on the Fireaway website and sharing their team's story.
Entries close on July 13, and winners will be announced on July 20.
Backing grassroots clubs
Fireaway already sponsors several grassroots sides through its franchise network, including Bideford AFC, MK United FC Ladies and Berks County FC. The new competition opens that support to teams nationwide.
Anis Hadji, managing director at Fireaway, said the initiative reflects the chain's view of football as a community endeavour. "Football has always been about more than the game itself," Hadji said, pointing to the people who sustain clubs at grassroots level.
A local presence
The chain operates a branch in Westbourne, Bournemouth, among its franchise locations across the country. Interested teams can find entry details on the Fireaway website.
