PANJIM, India, June 18, 2026 — MRG Group has launched Goldfinch Panjim Goa, a hotel overlooking the Mandovi River in the heart of Panaji, expanding its Goldfinch Hospitality portfolio. The company said the property has 98 rooms, including seven suites, and is aimed at both business and leisure travellers.
The opening adds to Goldfinch's growing network of hotels across India and deepens MRG Group's presence in Goa, one of the country's busiest tourism markets.
For a brand built on boutique and business hotels, the riverfront site places it in the commercial and cultural centre of the state capital.
Goldfinch Panjim Goa opens on the Mandovi
The hotel's 98 rooms include seven suites, and the company said the property features a grand lobby and landscaped surroundings. It is designed to serve business and leisure guests, according to MRG Group.
All-day dining is anchored by Banjara Restaurant, which the company said serves international dishes alongside Goan cuisine. Banjara is MRG Group's fine-dining brand, which the group traces back to 1993.
MRG Group's expanding hospitality footprint
Goldfinch operates as MRG Group's boutique and business hotel chain, with Goldfinch Bengaluru as its flagship. The group also operates the DoubleTree by Hilton Goa-Panaji and has said it is targeting more than 3,500 keys by 2035, up from about 1,200 operational keys.
Gaurav Shetty, managing director of MRG Group, said the opening is "another important milestone in MRG Group's hospitality expansion journey." Founder-Chairman Dr. K. Prakash Shetty said the launch reflects the group's aim of creating long-term value through sustainable growth and service.
A foothold in Goa's capital
Goa remains one of India's most-visited destinations, drawing domestic and international travellers to its coastline and cultural sites. MRG Group said the Panaji hotel strengthens Goldfinch's position in a high-growth market.
