Korean Street Food Brand Expands Into Devon

BUNSIK will occupy a 2,000-square-foot site at 134 Armada Way, offering seating for approximately 45 guests across two floors alongside takeaway and delivery services. The Plymouth venue marks the company's 13th UK location and its first restaurant in Devon.

The launch follows recent openings in Bristol and Southampton as the brand continues its national expansion strategy.

Menu Features Korean Street Food Favorites

The restaurant's menu will showcase signature Korean street food dishes including Korean corndogs, Korean fried chicken, tteokbokki rice cakes, kimbap rolls and cup bap rice bowls. The brand has become particularly well known for popularizing Korean-style corndogs among UK consumers.

BUNSIK also offers vegetarian options and uses halal meat across its menu, broadening its appeal to diverse customer groups.

Opening Promotions Planned for Launch Weekend

To celebrate the Plymouth debut, the company plans several promotional offers during opening weekend. These include free corndogs for the first 100 customers on launch day and discounted menu items throughout the weekend.

The promotions coincide with celebrations surrounding the reopening of Armada Way following a major city-centre regeneration project.

Founder Highlights Plymouth Opportunity

Founder Jae Cho said the company had been searching for the right location in Plymouth and viewed Armada Way as a strong fit for the brand's next phase of growth. The company believes the city's evolving food and retail landscape creates opportunities for new dining concepts.

BUNSIK launched in London in 2021 and has since expanded rapidly as interest in Korean food and culture continues to grow throughout the UK market.

The arrival of BUNSIK in Plymouth highlights the broader popularity of Korean cuisine, which has benefited from growing consumer interest in Korean entertainment, culture and food experiences. Industry observers note that Korean quick-service concepts remain among the fastest-growing international food categories in several UK cities.

With its largest restaurant opening in Plymouth, BUNSIK aims to bring Korean street food flavors to a wider audience while strengthening its position within the UK's expanding casual dining market.
