Mido Social House to Open in South Delhi on April 29 with Shareable Dining Format
Mido Social House by Flying Sparrow Hospitality will open in South Delhi on April 29, introducing a European-inspired shareable dining concept with a flexible menu and structured cocktail programme.
Mido Social House, a new European-inspired dining concept by Flying Sparrow Hospitality, is set to launch in South Delhi on April 29, 2026. Developed by restaurateur Kanishk Tuteja, the outlet introduces a shareable dining model aimed at group-led consumption, marking a shift from traditional course-based European restaurant formats in the capital.
The restaurant has been conceptualised as a “social house,” focusing on flexible dining occasions where dishes are designed to be shared rather than consumed individually. The format targets evolving consumer behaviour in urban markets, where diners increasingly prefer informal, interactive meal experiences over structured fine dining.
Concept Focused on Shared Dining Experiences
Mido Social House departs from conventional European dining by replacing sequential courses with a menu built around small plates and communal servings. The approach is intended to support spontaneous ordering and group engagement, aligning with broader industry trends favouring experiential dining.
The concept has been led by Kanishk Tuteja, whose portfolio includes brands such as Nukkad Cafe and Bar, 1 Oak, Kipos, and Nest. According to the company, the idea behind Mido is to create a space where dining is structured around interaction rather than predefined meal courses.
Tuteja stated that while Delhi already has a significant number of European restaurants, many continue to follow formal dining structures. Mido Social House aims to address this gap by offering a more relaxed, experience-driven format that encourages shared consumption and repeat visits.
Menu Combines European Influences with Local Adaptation
The culinary programme at Mido Social House is led by Corporate Executive Chef Aayush Khandelwal. The menu draws from European cuisine but incorporates elements tailored to local tastes, with a focus on versatility and shareability.
The offering includes small plates, flatbreads, pastas, and a dedicated kebaberie that uses coal-fired cooking techniques. Key menu items include Patatas Bravas 2.0, Harissa Pulled Chicken Borek, Smoked Vegetable Koobideh, and Lamb Adana. The pasta selection features dishes such as Baked Vodka Rigatoni, while vegetarian options include Eggplant Parmigiana and Tomatoes with Stracciatella.
A central highlight is the Mido Mezze Platter, positioned as a communal dish designed to support the restaurant’s core shareable format. The overall menu structure is designed to allow flexibility in portion sizes and ordering patterns, catering to both small and large groups.
Structured Cocktail Programme Anchors Beverage Strategy
The bar programme at Mido Social House, titled “The Lunar Ritual,” is divided into three thematic stages: The Waxing Ritual, The Full Illumination, and The Waning Eclipse. Each stage represents a distinct approach to cocktail preparation, flavour profiling, and presentation.
The beverage offering focuses on modern mixology techniques and seasonal variations, with an emphasis on structured flavour development. The programme is designed to complement the shareable food menu while also serving as a standalone attraction for evening and nightlife consumers.
Design and Layout Target Multi-Occasion Dining
The restaurant has been designed by Studio Chromed, with interiors that combine European aesthetics with a residential-style layout. The design approach aims to create a space that can transition seamlessly between daytime and evening usage, accommodating a range of consumption occasions from casual lunches to social gatherings.
The layout prioritises comfort and flexibility, supporting both small group interactions and larger communal dining setups. The overall ambience is intended to align with the brand’s positioning as a social dining destination rather than a traditional restaurant environment.
Launch Reflects Broader Industry Shift
The opening of Mido Social House comes amid a broader shift in the hospitality sector towards experiential dining formats. Restaurants in metropolitan markets are increasingly focusing on concepts that encourage social interaction, flexible ordering, and repeat engagement.
Flying Sparrow Hospitality’s latest venture reflects this trend, positioning Mido Social House as part of a growing segment of restaurants that prioritise shared experiences over structured dining. The brand’s focus on menu adaptability, interactive formats, and design-led spaces highlights changing consumer expectations in India’s urban dining landscape.
With its launch scheduled for April 29, the restaurant will enter a competitive South Delhi market, where differentiation is increasingly driven by concept innovation and experiential value rather than cuisine alone.
