With over 11 years of comprehensive experience across leading hospitality brands, Ruban Rajakumaran D has built a strong reputation for driving end-to-end HR strategy, organisational development, and workforce excellence. His professional journey spans prestigious hotel groups including Royal Orchid, ITC Hotels, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Accor, where he has handled both single-property and large cluster HR roles.

Currently serving as Associate Director – Human Resources at ICONIQA Mumbai International Airport, Ruban leads HR operations with a focus on recruitment and retention, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee engagement, statutory compliance, and trade union management. His ability to align HR strategies with business objectives has contributed to operational stability, workforce productivity, and sustainable growth.

Previously, during his tenure with ITC Hotels as HR Manager, Ruban played a key role in strengthening HR governance, implementing digital HR systems, and enhancing employee engagement frameworks. His experience with IHG Hotels & Resorts included managing HR operations across a cluster of 10 hotels in India, highlighting his capability to handle scale, complexity, and diverse workforce environments.

Ruban has been instrumental in implementing technology-driven HR solutions such as SAP SuccessFactors, Vantage Circle, and Vidal Health platforms, improving HR efficiency and employee experience. His leadership during the COVID-19 period was particularly impactful, successfully executing salary restructuring and restoration initiatives to ensure business continuity while safeguarding employee well-being.

His career achievements include receiving Accor Awards for Best Operational Support Employee and Executive of the Month, along with multiple recognitions for operational excellence and people management. Academically, Ruban holds an MBA in Human Resources and a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, providing him with a strong foundation in both hospitality operations and strategic HR leadership.
