The Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has announced the appointment of Georges Al Asmar as its new General Manager, marking a significant milestone in the hotel’s continued pursuit of excellence in Dubai’s luxury hospitality market.

With extensive experience across commercial strategy, brand positioning, and guest experience, Al Asmar is widely recognized for his strategic foresight, operational excellence, and people-first leadership. His appointment underscores Waldorf Astoria DIFC’s commitment to maintaining its reputation as one of Dubai’s most distinguished luxury destinations.

Since joining Waldorf Astoria DIFC in 2019 as Director of Commercial Strategy, Al Asmar has played an instrumental role in shaping the property’s identity and success. For nearly six years, he worked closely with the former general manager, helping the hotel achieve remarkable accolades and industry recognition. Under his leadership, the property has consistently upheld its Forbes Travel Guide five-star rating for three consecutive years and remains one of Dubai’s top-ranked hotels on leading global travel platforms.

In recognition of his achievements, Georges Al Asmar was shortlisted for the Hotelier Middle East General Manager Awards 2024 in the Future Leader – Non-GM category, an impressive feat that highlighted his leadership potential and outstanding contributions as a Commercial Director.

In his new capacity as General Manager, Al Asmar aims to leverage his deep commercial acumen to further enhance operational excellence and deliver exceptional guest experiences. A graduate of Hilton’s Luxury General Manager Development Programme, Al Asmar also holds an MBA from the American University of Science and Technology. Fluent in Arabic, English, French, and Italian, he brings a rich cultural perspective and dynamic leadership style to the role.

Before joining Waldorf Astoria, Al Asmar spent nearly a decade with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, serving in senior roles such as Director of Revenue Management & Reservations, Regional Revenue Management Coach, and Senior Director of Revenue Management. He also held the position of Reservations Manager for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in Beirut, gaining valuable regional and international experience in the luxury hospitality sector.
