Adam Rohman New Head of America's at Hyatt
Hyatt appoints Adam Rohman as Head of Americas effective July 1, succeeding retiring executive Pete Sears after nearly 40 years.
Leadership Transition at Hyatt
Adam Rohman will take over the role from Pete Sears, marking a significant leadership transition within Hyatt’s Americas business. Sears is stepping down following a career spanning close to four decades with the organisation and will move into a senior advisor position after the transition period.
Hyatt stated that Rohman and Sears will work closely in the coming weeks to ensure continuity across operations, relationships, and strategic priorities during the handover.
Adam Rohman's Role and Responsibilities
As Head of Americas, Rohman will oversee hotel operations, business performance, and overall management across Hyatt’s portfolio in the region. His responsibilities cover multiple brand segments, including Classics, Essentials, and Luxury.
In addition to regional oversight, he will lead global brand strategy for Hyatt’s Classics and Essentials portfolios. The role includes aligning operational performance with brand positioning and supporting consistency across properties in the Americas.
The position places Rohman at the centre of Hyatt’s regional execution, integrating operational leadership with brand strategy responsibilities.
Leadership Background HYATT
Adam Rohman brings more than 20 years of experience within Hyatt, having held several senior leadership roles across finance and operations. He currently serves as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Global Financial Planning and Analysis, along with his responsibilities as Treasurer.
His previous roles include Senior Vice President of Finance for the Americas and Global Head of Asset Management. These positions provided exposure to financial strategy, asset performance, and regional operations, supporting his transition into a broader leadership role.
His tenure within the company reflects long-term involvement in strategic planning, financial oversight, and operational alignment across markets.
Executive Perspective and Transition
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Hoplamazian, CEO of Hyatt, said Rohman brings strong organisational knowledge, established internal relationships, and experience in strategic leadership. He added that Rohman is expected to continue building on the foundation established under Sears’ leadership.
Sears will remain engaged with Hyatt in an advisory capacity following the transition, supporting key priorities and maintaining continuity across relationships. This phased transition approach is intended to ensure stability within the Americas leadership structure.
Broader Leadership Developments
Rohman’s appointment follows a series of recent leadership changes within Hyatt’s global structure. The company named Julienne Smith as Head of Americas Growth earlier, overseeing development activities in the region.
Hyatt also appointed Jason Ballard as Global Brand Leader for its Essentials portfolio and Tamara Lohan as Global Brand Leader for its Luxury portfolio toward the end of 2025. These changes reflect ongoing adjustments to leadership across brand and regional functions.
The appointment of Rohman aligns with Hyatt’s broader effort to strengthen leadership across operational and brand segments within its global portfolio.
