BENGALURU — Airbus has promoted Harsh Shah to Head of Procurement Strategy for Airbus India and South Asia. The promotion follows a nine-year career at Airbus that spans airframe engineering, digital transformation, innovation leadership and corporate strategy.
Shah is based in Bengaluru and steps into the role with direct experience across supplier management, automation, business strategy and the President's Office of Airbus India and South Asia.
Harsh Shah Built Nine-Year Cross-Functional Career at Airbus
He most recently served as Executive Assistant and Chief of Staff to the Head of Digital, Programme Management and Business Relationship Management at Airbus in Bengaluru. That role placed him at the centre of digital leadership, corporate programme management and business relationship networks for over two years.
Before that he served as Innovation Lead, driving business strategy and new operational frameworks across the Bengaluru hub. He also led complex digital transformation projects as Automation Lead, designing and executing automated operational workflows across the organisation.
Earlier in his career he served as Strategy and Market Intelligence Analyst directly in the President's Office of Airbus India and South Asia in Delhi. He also worked as Engineer in Airframe Structures, serving as Deputy TearDown Manager in France, and as Associate Engineer where he helped establish early Additive Engineering procedures in Bengaluru.
Harsh Shah Leads Procurement Strategy Across India and South Asia
As Head of Procurement Strategy, Shah will lead regional sourcing development, supply chain structuring and strategic corporate alignment across India and South Asia. His focus covers supplier partnerships, supply chain resilience, operational efficiency and strategic sourcing initiatives across the region.
Shah holds a Master of Science in Machine Design from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Gujarat Technological University. He also holds a Design Thinking certification from IIM Bangalore Executive Programmes.
