Manish Pratap Joins JourneyHub Hotels as Area GM for Phuket

PHUKET — JourneyHub Hotels has appointed Manish Pratap as Area General Manager for Phuket. Based at Mercure Phuket Patong Journeyhub, he oversees the group's Phuket operations while leading the pre-opening planning for Mövenpick Kamala, Phuket.

Pratap takes charge of multi-property operations across Mercure Phuket Patong Journeyhub, a 198-room four-star property with a rooftop infinity pool above Patong, and simultaneously leads pre-opening preparations for the upcoming Mövenpick Kamala, Phuket. His mandate covers hotel operations, performance, team leadership and brand delivery across both properties.

Nearly Two Decades Across India, the Middle East and Thailand

Pratap is a graduate of IHM Kolkata. He began his career in India, holding senior roles at Grand Hyatt and InterContinental. Those early postings gave him his grounding in large-format luxury hotel operations and international service standards.

He then moved to the Middle East, joining Mövenpick in Doha. That posting added Gulf market experience and a direct working relationship with the Mövenpick brand — relevant context for the upcoming Kamala opening he now leads.

His recent career has been based in Thailand, with tenures at Dusit Thani, Centara and MGallery. Working across those three groups gave him a strong working knowledge of the Thai hospitality landscape, its guest mix and its operational dynamics across resort and city hotel environments.

The Context for the Phuket Role

Phuket is one of Southeast Asia's most competitive hospitality markets. Patong and Kamala sit within a few kilometres of each other but attract different guest profiles. Managing a live Accor property in Patong while simultaneously preparing a Mövenpick resort for opening in Kamala is a demanding dual mandate. Pratap's background across pre-openings and multi-property management makes him suited to exactly this kind of assignment.
