Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati has appointed Samata Danday Chand as Hotel Manager following the property’s opening in April 2026, placing her in charge of overseeing operations and supporting the hotel’s growth as it establishes its presence in one of India’s key pilgrimage destinations.

Appointment at Newly Opened Property

The appointment comes at a crucial stage for Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati, which has recently commenced operations. The hotel is positioning itself to cater to a diverse mix of pilgrims, leisure travellers, and corporate guests visiting the city.

Samata Danday Chand will be responsible for leading the property’s operational framework, ensuring service delivery standards, and aligning the hotel’s performance with brand expectations during its early growth phase.

Role Focused on Operations and Guest Experience

In her role as Hotel Manager, Chand will oversee day-to-day operations across departments, with a focus on shaping guest experiences and ensuring seamless service execution. Her responsibilities include managing operational efficiency, supporting team performance, and contributing to the hotel’s long-term development strategy.

She will also work closely with department heads to establish operational processes and maintain consistency in service standards as the hotel builds its market presence.

Over Two Decades of Hospitality Experience

Chand brings more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with expertise spanning operations, guest services, and team development. She began her career with IHCL Taj Hotels, where she spent nearly a decade as an executive housekeeper.

During her tenure with Taj Hotels, she was involved in pre-opening assignments and renovation projects, gaining hands-on exposure to operational planning and execution. This early experience laid the foundation for her transition into broader leadership roles.

Progression Through Leadership Roles

Following her initial years in housekeeping, Chand moved into Learning and Development, where she contributed to training initiatives and organisational culture building. Her career trajectory later expanded into senior operational roles, including positions as operations manager and director of rooms.

Most recently, she served as Executive Assistant Manager – Rooms at JW Marriott Bengaluru Golfshire. In that role, she was involved in overseeing guest experience initiatives and managing key operational functions across the property.

Focus on Building Operational Foundation

With her appointment, Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati is focusing on establishing a strong operational base as it enters the local hospitality market. The property is expected to leverage Chand’s experience in pre-opening environments and operational leadership to streamline processes and enhance guest satisfaction.

The hotel is part of Marriott International’s expanding portfolio in India, targeting destinations with consistent demand from religious tourism as well as business travel. Tirupati continues to attract significant visitor traffic, making it a strategic location for branded hospitality developments.
