Chennai/Bengaluru, April 14, 2026: Hyatt Hotels Corporation has signed agreements with Brigade Group entities to develop two new hospitality projects in South India, including a 200-key Grand Hyatt hotel in Chennai and a 135-unit Hyatt House property in Bengaluru, marking a strategic expansion in key leisure and business markets.
Two Projects Signed Across Chennai and Bengaluru
The agreement involves Brigade Hotel Ventures Ltd. (BHVL) and BCV Developers Pvt. Ltd., both part of the Brigade Group. The developments include Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR and Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli, reflecting Hyatt’s continued focus on scaling its presence in high-demand urban and leisure destinations.
The Chennai project, being developed by BHVL, will feature 200 rooms and is scheduled to open in 2029. Positioned along the East Coast Road, the beachfront property is designed to cater to both leisure and business segments, including weddings, staycations, and meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).
Grand Hyatt Chennai to Target MICE and Leisure Demand
The Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR will include multiple guest amenities such as a pool bar, lobby lounge, wellness facilities, and event spaces. The location along India’s southeastern coastline is expected to support demand from both domestic and international travellers seeking leisure and large-format event venues.
According to Brigade Hotel Ventures Ltd., the project represents its first collaboration with Hyatt and aligns with its long-term focus on hospitality asset development. The company has also previously entered into an agreement with the Tamil Nadu government to invest approximately $121.59 million in the state’s tourism and hospitality sector.
Hyatt House Bengaluru to Open in 2027
The second project, Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli, is being developed by BCV Developers Pvt. Ltd. and is scheduled for completion in 2027. The property will feature 135 serviced apartments designed for both short-term and extended stays.
Located near Kempegowda International Airport, the hotel is positioned within the Devanahalli tech corridor, an emerging hub that includes planned IT parks, Aerospace Science Park, and Financial City developments. The property will include meeting spaces, a swimming pool, and a fitness centre, targeting business travellers and long-stay guests.
Strategic Location and Market Positioning
The Bengaluru development reflects a growing demand for extended-stay accommodation in proximity to business districts and infrastructure hubs. Its location near the airport and technology clusters is expected to support occupancy from corporate clients, expatriates, and project-based travellers.
The Chennai project, on the other hand, is positioned to capture demand from both destination weddings and leisure tourism, while also serving corporate events and conferences. The dual focus highlights a diversified approach to hospitality development across different market segments.
Expansion Aligned with Broader Growth Strategy
The signings are part of Hyatt’s broader expansion strategy in India, focusing on both business and leisure markets. The company continues to partner with local developers to strengthen its footprint across key cities and emerging corridors.
Separately, Brigade Group has also been active in hospitality development through collaborations with other global operators. Earlier, the group announced plans with Marriott International to develop six hotels with a total of 940 rooms across multiple Indian markets under various brands.
The latest agreements reinforce a trend of global hotel operators expanding through partnerships with domestic developers, enabling faster market penetration and diversified offerings across segments such as luxury, extended stay, and MICE-focused hospitality.
With the addition of these two projects, Hyatt continues to build its pipeline in India, targeting locations that combine strong infrastructure growth with sustained travel demand. Both properties are currently in development, with phased openings expected between 2027 and 2029.
