IHCL signs a 165-key Vivanta hotel at Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh, expanding its footprint to nine hotels in the state.
VISAKHAPATNAM – April 14, 2026 – Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a 165-key Vivanta hotel at Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh, marking a greenfield development aligned with the region’s emerging aviation and tourism growth corridor.
The upcoming property will be strategically located adjacent to the airport terminal in Vizianagaram district, positioning it to cater to transit passengers, corporate travellers, and meetings and events demand. The signing further strengthens IHCL’s presence in Andhra Pradesh, taking its portfolio in the state to nine hotels, including four under development.
Strategic location near upcoming airport hub
The hotel is being developed at Bhogapuram International Airport, an upcoming aviation hub expected to play a key role in driving connectivity and economic activity in North Andhra. The airport is part of a broader infrastructure push along the Visakhapatnam–Bheemili–Bhogapuram corridor, which is witnessing increasing investment and development activity.
According to IHCL, the project’s proximity to the terminal building will offer direct accessibility for travellers, positioning the hotel to serve both short-stay transit demand and extended corporate stays linked to regional business activity.
The development aligns with the broader trend of integrating hospitality assets within airport ecosystems to capture growing passenger traffic and improve service offerings.
165-key hotel to include dining, leisure and event facilities
The Vivanta Bhogapuram International Airport will feature 165 rooms designed to cater to a mix of business and leisure travellers. The property will include multiple food and beverage outlets such as Mynt, an all-day dining restaurant, Wink, a bar, and Swirl, a deli.
In addition to dining, the hotel will offer leisure and wellness facilities, including a swimming pool and a fully equipped gym. A dedicated banqueting space spanning over 4,000 square feet will support meetings, conferences, and social events, reinforcing the hotel’s positioning within the MICE segment.
The combination of accommodation, dining, and event infrastructure reflects a comprehensive hospitality offering tailored to airport-linked demand and regional business activity.
Expansion supports IHCL’s regional growth strategy
The signing is part of IHCL’s broader expansion strategy focused on high-growth markets supported by infrastructure development and tourism initiatives. The company has been actively increasing its footprint across emerging destinations and key travel corridors in India.
With this addition, IHCL’s portfolio in Andhra Pradesh will include nine hotels, of which four are currently under development. The expansion highlights the company’s focus on strengthening its presence in secondary markets and capitalising on rising travel demand beyond metropolitan cities.
IHCL’s multi-brand portfolio spans luxury, upscale, and midscale segments, allowing it to address a wide range of customer segments across different geographies.
Bhogapuram corridor emerges as growth driver
The Bhogapuram International Airport project is expected to enhance connectivity in North Andhra, supporting both tourism and business travel. The surrounding corridor, linking Visakhapatnam, Bheemili, and Bhogapuram, is being positioned as a key growth zone driven by infrastructure investments and government-led initiatives.
The development of airport-linked hospitality infrastructure is anticipated to play a role in supporting increased passenger movement, corporate activity, and regional events. This is particularly relevant as secondary cities and emerging corridors gain prominence in India’s travel and hospitality landscape.
IHCL’s investment in this location reflects a targeted approach to capturing demand in areas where infrastructure development is expected to drive long-term growth.
