New Delhi, April 23, 2026: Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has expanded water conservation initiatives across its Delhi-NCR portfolio, implementing recycling, reuse and consumption reduction systems across multiple properties under its ESG+ framework, Paathya. The move includes key hotels such as Taj Mahal New Delhi, Taj Palace New Delhi, Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Taj Damdama Lake Resort & Spa, and Ambassador New Delhi IHCL SeleQtions.

The initiative focuses on strengthening resource efficiency through integrated water management systems designed to optimise usage and minimise waste. Across these properties, IHCL has adopted operational practices that emphasise circular resource use, combining technology-led interventions with process-level improvements.

Water recycling efficiency reaches 97% at flagship property

At Taj Mahal, New Delhi, the company reported a water recycling efficiency of 97%, with 92% of treated water being reused across hotel operations. The property is also progressing towards LEED Zero Water Certification and has been awarded EarthCheck Platinum Certification 2026, indicating alignment with global sustainability benchmarks.

The implementation includes advanced treatment and reuse systems integrated into daily operations, supporting both environmental targets and operational continuity. These measures are part of IHCL’s broader strategy to reduce dependency on fresh water sources while maintaining service standards.
