Noted Collection Amman Hotel Brews a Bold New Concept
The Noted Collection Amman Hotel brings a coffee-inspired 50-key property to Jordan, built through IHG's partnership with heritage brand Al Ameed Coffee.
Somewhere along the busy route connecting Amman to Queen Alia International Airport, a roaster's hands move through beans the way they have for more than five decades, the scent of fresh coffee already anchoring an idea that will soon shape an entire hotel. That heritage is now the foundation for something new. The Noted Collection Amman Hotel has been signed through a franchise agreement between IHG Hotels & Resorts and Al Ameed Coffee, a partnership confirmed through IHG's official announcement this week and reported by Safari India.
The planned 50-key hotel will draw directly on Jordan's coffee culture and Al Ameed Coffee's own decades-long heritage, marking a distinctive entry point for IHG's Noted Collection brand as it establishes its presence in Jordan for the first time.
A Location Built for Movement and Discovery
Positioned along a key route linking Amman with the airport, the hotel sits within an area experiencing genuine growth, surrounded by new residential developments, expanding commercial activity, and strong transport connectivity. That location offers guests convenient access to both the capital and its airport, while placing the property within a neighborhood actively evolving alongside it.
For a brand built around individual identity and connection to place, this kind of setting, part transit corridor, part emerging urban district, offers exactly the sort of layered context Noted Collection properties are designed to draw from.
Coffee as the Hotel's Central Story
Rather than treating coffee as a simple amenity, the hotel has been conceived around it entirely. The first two floors will house a coffee reserve and experience centre, built specifically around the history, preparation, and traditions surrounding coffee culture in Jordan. That theme will extend well beyond those initial floors, with coffee-inspired elements woven throughout the guestrooms and other shared spaces across the property.
This kind of deeply integrated thematic design distinguishes the Amman property from a typical branded hotel offering a single signature café. Instead, coffee becomes the connective thread running through nearly every guest touchpoint, from the moment travelers arrive at the ground-floor experience centre to the details found within their own rooms.
Introducing IHG's Newest Global Brand
Noted Collection represents IHG's 21st brand, built specifically around independent hotels that carry individual identities and genuine ties to their surrounding locations. Rather than imposing a standardized template across every property, the brand instead brings together distinctly different concepts and stories, while still offering owners access to IHG's broader commercial platform and its IHG One Rewards loyalty programme.
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director for India, Middle East & Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts, framed the Amman signing within a much larger vision for Jordan's tourism trajectory. "Jordan continues to strengthen its position as a long-term growth market, underpinned by national tourism development priorities and an increasingly diverse visitor base," Mattar said. "That spirit makes this future coffee-inspired hotel in Amman a natural fit for our Noted Collection brand. Rooted in the craft, culture and ritual of coffee, the hotel will offer a stay shaped by local heritage and designed to spark curiosity, connection and conversation."
Mattar elaborated further on the brand's underlying purpose. "Noted Collection was created for owners of unique hotels with stories worth sharing, celebrating each property's individuality and sense of place, while unlocking the full strength of IHG's global enterprise platform, commercial systems and IHG One Rewards," he explained. "Through our collaboration with Al Ameed Coffee, we are bringing together a homegrown Jordanian brand with deep cultural relevance and a hotel concept that is strongly rooted in place."
A Coffee Legacy Finding a New Home in Hospitality
Al Ameed Coffee has spent more than five decades cultivating a reputation within Jordan's coffee culture, and this hotel represents the company's first significant step into full hospitality. Basel Daher, Managing Partner at Al Ameed Coffee, described the project as a natural extension of the brand's existing story rather than an entirely new venture. "For more than five decades, Al Ameed Coffee has built its story around the craft and culture of coffee," Daher said. "This hotel is a natural evolution of that story, an opportunity to translate what we have created through coffee into a complete hospitality experience, rooted in Jordan and designed to be remembered."
That transition, from a coffee brand with deep cultural roots into a full hospitality concept, illustrates a broader trend gaining traction across the Middle East, where established local food and beverage brands increasingly partner with international hotel groups to translate their heritage into complete guest experiences rather than standalone retail offerings.
Part of a Growing Jordanian Footprint
This agreement adds to IHG's existing presence in Jordan, where the group currently operates eight hotels spanning three brands, including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn Resort. The addition of Noted Collection expands that portfolio into a genuinely distinct segment, one built around independent character rather than the more standardized offerings typically associated with IHG's established Jordanian properties.
This kind of deliberate, culturally rooted expansion mirrors similarly place-conscious hospitality strategies unfolding elsewhere in the region and beyond this year, including recent large-scale coastal developments such as the Hotel Riu Palace Phuket opening along Mai Khao Beach, where a different operator similarly leaned into local geography and identity as the foundation for a new property's concept.
A Hotel Steeped in More Than Décor
What ultimately distinguishes the Noted Collection Amman Hotel from a conventional branded property is the depth of its central concept, coffee here functions not as a lobby amenity or breakfast afterthought, but as the very framework guiding design, storytelling, and guest experience throughout the building. As construction and planning continue toward an eventual opening, the hotel carries forward more than fifty years of Al Ameed Coffee's craft, translated into a stay meant to linger in memory long after the last cup has been poured.
