Olive Hospitality signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh to develop 2,000 hotel rooms across key destinations
Olive Hospitality signs an MoU with Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority to develop 2,000 hotel rooms, boosting infrastructure and investment across key travel destinations.
Olive Hospitality, the hospitality arm of Embassy Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority to support the development of hospitality infrastructure across the state.
The agreement focuses on expanding branded accommodation and attracting private investment, as Andhra Pradesh positions itself as a high-growth tourism destination.
2,000-room pipeline planned across key markets
Under the MoU, Olive Hospitality will develop a pipeline of approximately 2,000 branded hotel rooms across major destinations including Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Guntur.
The initiative is expected to draw an estimated investment of around ₹500 crore from third-party developers and investors, while also generating employment for nearly 700 people.
This expansion aims to strengthen the availability of organised and branded accommodation in high-demand travel markets.
Government support to enable faster development
As part of the collaboration, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority will facilitate approvals, provide access to identified land parcels, and extend incentives under the state’s tourism policy framework.
The government will also support investor outreach initiatives, helping accelerate project execution and attract further private participation in the sector.
This partnership reflects a coordinated approach between the public and private sectors to drive tourism-led infrastructure development.
Focus on religious, leisure, and emerging destinations
The identified cities represent a mix of coastal, religious, and urban markets, aligning with evolving travel trends across India.
Destinations such as Tirupati continue to attract large volumes of pilgrimage traffic, while Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada are emerging as key leisure and business hubs.
The expansion strategy is designed to cater to diverse travel segments, including leisure, spiritual tourism, and corporate travel.
Partnership aligns with tourism growth strategy
The MoU establishes a long-term framework for collaboration aimed at boosting tourism infrastructure and supporting sustained sector growth in Andhra Pradesh.
The state government has been actively promoting tourism as a key economic driver, with a focus on experiential travel, MICE tourism, and regional development.
By expanding branded hotel capacity, the initiative is expected to improve overall travel experience and support increasing visitor volumes.
Industry trend towards public-private collaboration
The partnership highlights a broader industry trend where hospitality companies are collaborating with state governments to accelerate development and reduce entry barriers.
Such models enable faster scaling of hotel infrastructure while ensuring alignment with regional tourism strategies and policy support.
With this agreement, Olive Hospitality is strengthening its position in India’s growing hospitality market, while contributing to Andhra Pradesh’s vision of becoming a leading tourism destination.
