Hotel Stripes Singapore Chinatown Autograph Collection is the new name of the former Capri by Fraser, China Square. YTL Hotels announced the change on 8 October 2026. The hotel stays open with all 304 rooms bookable. Marriott has managed it since October.

The conversion will happen in phases. No completion date has been announced. YTL Hotels says it will reveal the final design, dining and services in the coming months. Details are also listed on the official Marriott website.

Nothing new has been built. The address is 181 South Bridge Road, between Chinatown and the Central Business District. The property changed hands and then management in October 2026.

Marriott will reposition it as an upscale Autograph Collection by Marriott hotel. Photos on the Marriott website show the current look. That includes murals and a ceiling painted with Chinatown scenes. This decor is set to change.

YTL Hotels and BlackRock Make a Second Singapore Purchase

The hotel is owned by YTL Hotels and a private fund managed by BlackRock. It is their second joint hotel deal in Singapore in under 18 months. The first was Citadines Raffles Place, bought in May 2025. It was renamed Oakwood Premier Raffles Place Singapore in 2026.

The Hotel Stripes brand had only one address until now. That is Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur in the Heritage Row district. Dato' Setia Mark Yeoh is executive director of YTL Hotels. He said the deal extends the group's footprint in Singapore. He also said it answers travellers who want addresses rooted in their neighbourhood.

Rue de MOSS Brings Mediterranean Flavours

Rue de MOSS is the hotel restaurant. It is run by Moss Cross Tokyo. The menu offers Mediterranean inspired cooking with international influences.

The restaurant serves guests from breakfast to dinner. It opens daily from 6.30am to 10.30am, noon to 3pm and 6pm to 10pm. A bar serves wine, spirits and cocktails. Room service completes the offer.

Rooftop Pool, Gym and Room Rates

An outdoor pool sits on the roof. It faces the towers of the Central Business District. A glass walled gym rounds out the facilities. The hotel has no spa.

On 12 October 2026, Marriott listed a Deluxe King for two adults from SGD 270 a night. That was a non refundable prepaid rate for 12 to 13 November. The flexible rate was SGD 350. Both rates exclude taxes and fees.
