SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia Expands Indonesia Portfolio with SONO Felice Bali Canggu
SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia expands in Indonesia with the signing of SONO Felice Bali Canggu, opening in 2028.
SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia has strengthened its Indonesia hospitality portfolio with the signing of SONO Felice Bali Canggu, a new upper upscale lifestyle hotel scheduled to open in July 2028.
The hotel management agreement was signed with PT Nelayan Development SPV and marks another strategic step in SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia’s continued expansion across Southeast Asia. The new Bali hotel will feature approximately 90 rooms and is positioned within the growing lifestyle hospitality segment targeting modern global travellers.
Located on Jalan Nelayan near Batu Bolong Beach, SONO Felice Bali Canggu will be situated in the centre of Canggu, one of Bali’s most vibrant tourism and lifestyle destinations. The area has become internationally recognised for its surf culture, creative community, beach lifestyle, digital nomad population, and dynamic dining scene.
The project is being developed as a residential-hospitality hybrid designed to accommodate both short-term and extended stays. This concept reflects changing travel trends where travellers increasingly seek flexible, design-focused accommodation that combines comfort, lifestyle, and local experiences.
SONO Felice is positioned as a premium lifestyle hospitality brand focused on elegant residential-style stays with personalised guest experiences. The Bali property will mark the brand’s first entry into Indonesia’s hospitality market.
According to SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia, the development strategy focuses on destinations with strong long-term tourism growth potential and evolving lifestyle travel demand. Canggu continues to attract international visitors due to its balance of leisure, wellness, coworking culture, and beach tourism experiences.
The hotel’s design will feature four architecturally distinct buildings inspired by the natural elements of Water, Fire, Air, and Earth. Guests can expect rooftop dining experiences, ocean views, modern lifestyle amenities, and personalised services including private butler offerings.
The development also highlights the increasing popularity of upper upscale lifestyle hotels in Bali, where hospitality brands are adapting to the preferences of younger travellers, remote workers, and long-stay international visitors seeking authentic yet premium hospitality experiences.
SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia stated that the project is designed to align with the evolving needs of modern travel while maintaining strong connections to Canggu’s local identity and energy.
With its prime location and lifestyle-driven concept, SONO Felice Bali Canggu is expected to become a notable addition to Bali’s competitive upper upscale hospitality market while supporting Indonesia’s growing tourism industry.
