Wyndham has crossed the 100-hotel mark in Mexico, marking a significant milestone in one of its fastest-growing international markets. The expansion, achieved over a five-year period, reflects the company’s strategy to scale its presence across more than 50 cities through a diversified, multi-brand portfolio.

Five-year expansion nearly doubles footprint

The company has nearly doubled its footprint in Mexico over the past five years, driven by sustained domestic demand, rising international tourism, and continued investment across coastal and urban destinations. The portfolio now spans 15 brands, positioning Mexico as a key contributor to Wyndham’s global growth strategy.

The expansion has been supported by a strong development pipeline, with additional hotels under construction across multiple segments. The company’s international portfolio in Mexico is also delivering performance advantages, with an average FeePAR premium of approximately 20% compared to its broader international system.

Tourism growth supports long-term demand

Mexico’s tourism sector continues to underpin Wyndham’s expansion strategy. In 2025, the country recorded approximately 47.8 million international arrivals, generating close to $35 billion in foreign exchange revenue. Both indicators showed strong year-on-year growth, reinforcing Mexico’s position as a major global travel destination.

The country has also outlined ambitions to achieve double-digit growth in international arrivals over the next five years, with a long-term goal of becoming one of the world’s top five most-visited destinations by 2030. This outlook is expected to sustain demand across both leisure and business travel segments.

Multi-brand strategy drives nationwide growth

Wyndham’s growth in Mexico has been driven by a targeted approach focusing on high-demand segments, including midscale, upper-midscale, soft-brand independents, all-inclusive resorts, and upper-upscale properties. The introduction of the Wyndham Alltra brand in 2021 has also supported expansion in the all-inclusive segment, responding to increasing demand for branded resort experiences.

The company has leveraged partnerships with established local operators to accelerate development. Key partners such as Alzen, Bel Air, Optima, Grupo Hola, FibraHotel, and Fibra Inn have played a central role in expanding Wyndham’s presence across both primary and secondary markets.

Strategic partnerships expand room inventory

Wyndham has also strengthened its footprint through multi-hotel agreements with regional operators. A partnership with Grupo MX Hotels added more than 800 rooms across 15 properties to the Trademark Collection brand, expanding presence in key urban markets.

In the all-inclusive segment, agreements with Decameron All-Inclusive Hotels & Resorts have contributed over 2,600 rooms across nine resorts in Latin America, including three in Mexico. Similarly, Viva Resorts by Wyndham operates nine all-inclusive properties totaling more than 3,700 rooms across Mexico and the Caribbean.

Further expansion has been supported by a strategic alliance with Palladium Hotel Group, adding more than a dozen upper-upscale and luxury resorts to the Registry Collection Hotels brand. The partnership was extended in 2024 to include additional properties in Europe, strengthening Wyndham’s global portfolio.

Mexico remains a core international growth market

According to company executives, Mexico continues to be one of Wyndham’s most active development markets, supported by strong owner interest and growing demand across established and emerging destinations. The company is focusing on expanding in locations with long-term travel demand while maintaining a balance across leisure, business, and cultural destinations.

The milestone reflects Wyndham’s broader international strategy of scaling through partnerships, brand diversification, and targeted development. With a robust pipeline and continued tourism growth, Mexico is expected to remain a central pillar in the company’s expansion across Latin America.
