CHICAGO, June 8, 2026 — The Carlyle Club, a new riverfront dining concept, is taking over 316 N. Clark St. in River North the space previously occupied by The Kitchen, the farm-to-table restaurant co-owned by Kimbal Musk that closed earlier this year adding another venue to a north bank stretch of the Chicago River that is undergoing its most concentrated restaurant activity in years.
The opening, reported by Crain's Chicago Business on June 8, places The Carlyle Club among a cluster of new and forthcoming riverfront concepts reshaping the dining landscape between Clark Street and LaSalle Drive. The project's interior design is attributed to Social Design Studio, the Chicago-based firm whose renderings show a bar-forward layout with a warm material palette suited to the Clark Street address's direct river access.
