TAIPEI, June 4, 2026 — WiXtar, the food and beverage technology brand under Taiwan's BenQ Qisda Group, has unveiled the world's first agentic AI store manager for chain restaurants, debuting the system at COMPUTEX 2026 in partnership with hotpot brand 6owl Door.

The solution branded as the "24/7 AI Store Manager" integrates front-of-house customer experience, back-of-house management and corporate headquarters decision-making into a single automated platform, directly targeting the chronic labor shortage reshaping Taiwan's restaurant sector.

WiXtar Agentic AI Store Manager Targets Taiwan's NT$40 Billion Hotpot Industry

Taiwan's hotpot segment generates an annual output value of NT$40 billion, making it one of the largest categories within the island's food and beverage industry. Yet persistent staff vacancies and high turnover have left chain operators stretched thin at the frontline management level.

Data from Taiwan's Ministry of Labor 2025 annual report shows that annual salaries in the F&B sector climbed 7.5%, yet vacancy rates remained elevated, suggesting wage increases alone cannot close the staffing gap.

Lee Yu-hsuan, General Manager of 6owl Door, pointed directly to the nature of the problem.

"The real challenge for chain restaurants stems from rapid employee turnover alongside inexperienced new hires, compounding the operational complexities of frontline management. From labor scheduling and inventory control to sales forecasting and anomaly detection, numerous tasks that once relied on empirical judgment are precisely the scenarios where AI delivers its greatest value."

Four Core Modules Power the Agentic AI Restaurant Platform

WiXtar's system operates across four integrated modules, each targeting a distinct layer of restaurant operations where manual labor has historically created inefficiency or error.

The AI Store Patrol Robot uses 360-degree panoramic imaging and Vision-Language Model (VLM) scene recognition to conduct automated inspections around the clock. Pre-service, it audits sanitation and staff grooming standards. During service, it monitors food preparation volumes. After closing, it manages safety and disaster-prevention checks tasks that previously required dedicated supervisory staff.

At the customer-facing level, an AI Self-Ordering Kiosk detects hesitation or ordering friction in real time using VLM technology. The system then guides diners through the ordering process and suggests tailored menu combinations, with the dual aim of increasing average order value and reducing front-of-house staffing pressure.

Underpinning both is an AI Decision-Making Platform that consolidates omnichannel transaction data, membership records, inventory figures and ERP system inputs. Built using D8AI's AI Agent Builder, it generates actionable recommendations for ingredient preparation before opening, mid-shift sales intelligence and post-closing improvement plans shifting management decisions, as WiXtar describes it, from experience-driven to data-driven.

A fourth module handles AI Ordering and Receiving, incorporating historical sales data alongside weather patterns and holiday calendars to auto-generate ingredient order recommendations. Upon delivery, VLM image recognition cross-references incoming goods against orders and completes receiving verification digitally, eliminating manual invoice entry and reducing food waste at the supply chain level. WiXtar Eyes 47,000 Chain Outlets Across Asia-Pacific

May Kang, CEO of WiXtar, framed the launch as a pivot point in how the company positions itself within the global software market.

"In the age of Agentic AI, global SaaS is transitioning from licensing sales modules to actively driving business outcomes, fueling WiXtar's evolution into an execution-level Agentic AI that empowers brands to build actionable, quantifiable AI infrastructure."

— May Kang, CEO, WiXtar

Kang cited specific business outcomes the platform targets, including improved restocking accuracy and higher order volumes. WiXtar says it is scaling the agentic AI model across more than 47,000 chain outlets across the Asia-Pacific region, leveraging its vertical integration capabilities built over years of F&B software deployment.

The COMPUTEX 2026 showcase runs through June 5 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, with WiXtar appearing under the BenQ Qisda Group's AI IN ACTION exhibition zone at Booth M0104 on the fourth floor. Participating group companies include BenQ Corporation, Qisda Corporation, D8ai, Partner Tech, URSROBOT and WiXtar, among others.

The debut marks a significant moment for the restaurant technology sector globally, as agentic AI systems capable of autonomous, multi-step decision-making rather than single-prompt responses begins to move from theoretical discussion into live commercial deployment across high-volume dining operations.
