LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 16, 2026 — KFC is refreshing its visual identity as part of a broader brand overhaul that also brings new menu items and redesigned restaurants. The update touches the chain's bucket, its Colonel Sanders icon, packaging, digital platforms and advertising.
The rebrand is tied to a strategy the company calls "modern chicken" in the quick-service restaurant sector. It signals an attempt to stand out in a crowded fast-food chicken market as rivals expand.
What the KFC rebrand changes
The bucket, which KFC describes as its most recognizable asset, has been refreshed alongside a subtle update to the Colonel Sanders icon. The work was created by branding agency Jones Knowles Ritchie, and the new look is rolling out across packaging, digital channels, advertising and restaurants.
Scott Mezvinsky, CEO of KFC Global, said the chain sees "a clear opportunity to set the standard for modern chicken" in the category. He framed the change as a new chapter that doubles down on chicken while reworking how customers experience the brand.
New menu items and a drinks line
Alongside the visual changes, KFC is expanding its boneless menu for what it describes as dipping, dunking and snacking, and launching a global sauce platform aimed at customization. The company is also introducing a beverage line called KWENCH by KFC.
KFC said the additions are meant to offer new ways to enjoy its original flavor through more boneless options and a wider range of sauces.
New restaurant formats and rollout
KFC is also rolling out next-generation restaurant designs that it says are built for hospitality rather than only efficiency. Early examples include an open-concept location in McKinney, Texas, expected to open in late summer, and a two-story restaurant in Dubai due in the fall.
In the UK and Ireland, the updated branding reaches communications and digital touchpoints in the coming weeks, with the global rollout expanding to Australia and the United States and further markets through 2026. More on the brand is available via KFC.
