MUMBAI, July 20, 2026 — La Loca Maria has joined 50 Best Discovery, the global hospitality guide that showcases recommended restaurants, bars, hotels and vineyards across the world. The recognition places the Mumbai-based Spanish restaurant among hospitality venues selected through votes from the independent academies behind the World's 50 Best rankings.
The latest update to the platform adds more than 650 venues worldwide, expanding its reach to over 3,500 hospitality establishments across more than 800 cities and towns. The inclusion reflects growing international visibility for India's restaurant industry while introducing more destinations to global diners.
La Loca Maria earns place on 50 Best Discovery
Co-founded by Chef Manuel Olveira and entrepreneur Mickee Tuljapurkar, La Loca Maria has built its identity around contemporary Spanish cuisine inspired by traditional recipes and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant takes its name from Chef Manuel's mother, Maria, whose family restaurant in Toledo influenced his culinary journey.
The menu combines authentic Spanish techniques with seasonal produce available in India. Guests can expect tapas, paellas, seafood preparations, carefully curated wines and cocktails designed to reflect Spain's social dining culture.

How 50 Best Discovery selects venues
Unlike an annual ranking, 50 Best Discovery serves as a curated global travel and dining guide. Restaurants cannot apply for inclusion. Instead, hospitality venues appear on the platform after receiving a required number of votes from academy members responsible for the World's 50 Best regional and global lists.
The July 2026 update also introduced vineyards as a new category while expanding representation to more than 75 cities and towns appearing on the platform for the first time.
