GREENVILLE, S.C., May 31, 2026 — Menkoi Noodle House, a Japanese restaurant known for its ramen, rice bowls and beef bowls, closed its Main Street location in Greenville on Saturday after 10 years of operation, the restaurant announced on social media the same day.
The closure marks the end of the downtown Greenville chapter for the local brand, which continues to operate its second location on Woodruff Road. No reason for the Main Street closure was given in the announcement.
Menkoi Noodle House Closes Greenville Main Street Location After a Decade
The restaurant posted the news on Facebook on Saturday, May 31, confirming that the day marked the final service at the Main Street address.
"It has been a wonderful ten years at this location. We have always strived to provide excellent value and delicious food to our Greenville community," the post read.
The announcement did not give a specific reason for the closure. The restaurant thanked its customers and community without signaling any broader changes to the brand or its ownership.
Woodruff Road Location Continues to Serve Greenville Diners
Menkoi's remaining location at 1860 Woodruff Road in Greenville remains open for business. That restaurant operates seven days a week, serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Customers who frequented the Main Street location can continue to access the full menu, which includes fresh ramen dishes, rice bowls and beef bowls alongside other Japanese plates, at the Woodruff Road address.
Main Street in downtown Greenville has long drawn independent and regional restaurant concepts, and the loss of a 10-year anchor reflects the pressures that longtime dining establishments across the country have faced in recent years. High operating costs, shifting foot traffic patterns and post-pandemic changes in downtown dining habits have contributed to closures at multiple long-running restaurants in similar urban corridors.
