Restaurant Punjab Meet House Opens in Jersey City This Weekend

JERSEY CITY, July 3, 2026 — Punjab Meet House opens its doors to the public this weekend at 25 Columbus Drive, bringing Punjabi cuisine and beverage offerings to downtown Jersey City beginning Friday evening.

The new restaurant debuts on Friday, July three, at the ground-floor space in the Haus25 development near Exchange Place. The opening event runs from five p.m. until ten p.m., with walk-in service available Saturday and Sunday before reservations launch later this summer. 

Punjab Meet House Brings Punjabi Cuisine to Jersey City

The team behind acclaimed Manhattan Indian eateries GupShup and Bungalow leads Punjab Meet House, with chef Zahir Khan heading the kitchen. The restaurant’s design, created by Shaila Rizvi Studio, aims to evoke the warmth of a Punjabi home and offers both bar and table seating in about 2,245 square feet of space.

The menu highlights dishes inspired by Pre-Partition Punjab, with teaser images showing offerings such as Haneeth goat ribs and a smoky chicken tikka. A full menu and beverage program are now in place for the opening weekend.

Jersey City has a vibrant South Asian dining scene, anchored by India Square and a sizable Indian American community. Punjab Meet House adds a new dimension to local dining by focusing on regional Punjabi flavors alongside a curated drink list. 

Chef Zahir Khan, born in India and raised in a culinary family, has a track record of blending traditional Indian techniques with contemporary presentations. The restaurant plans to serve lunch and dinner in the weeks ahead, with full service and reservations soon available.
