Fairmont Udaipur Palace appoints Karan Solanki as Director of L&D
Karan Solanki joins Fairmont Udaipur Palace as Director of Learning and Development with 15 years across India, the Maldives and the UAE.
Fairmont Udaipur Palace has appointed Karan Solanki as Director of Learning and Development. Solanki brings over 15 years of hospitality experience across India, the Maldives and the UAE to the role.
The appointment adds senior learning and development leadership to one of Rajasthan's largest luxury properties. Fairmont Udaipur Palace sits in the Aravalli Hills with 327 rooms and suites, a full-service spa, two outdoor pools, six dining and bar venues and one of the largest ballrooms in Rajasthan.
Karan Solanki Brings Multi-Market Hospitality Training Expertise
Solanki most recently served with Pulse Hotels and Resorts in the Maldives. He oversaw learning and development strategies across multiple resort properties in the island destination.
His responsibilities there included leading training initiatives, supporting pre-opening projects and driving team development programmes across diverse resort environments. Pre-opening L&D work requires building training frameworks from the ground up before a single guest arrives.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Soneva, one of the Maldives' most recognised ultra-luxury resort operators. He also held roles with Marriott International and Starwood Hotels and Resorts, giving him direct exposure to structured global training frameworks across multiple brand cultures.
His experience spans talent engagement, guest experience development and learning strategy across India, the Maldives and the UAE. That geographic breadth is uncommon at the director level and reflects a career built across genuinely varied hospitality markets.
The Role at Fairmont Udaipur Palace
As Director of Learning and Development, Solanki will lead training and team development across the property. His focus will cover empowering the hotel's workforce, building internal capability and supporting the guest experience through structured learning programmes.
Fairmont Udaipur Palace is operated by Accor under the Fairmont brand. The property serves leisure travellers, destination wedding groups and corporate guests across its ballrooms, event pool with jacuzzi, amphitheatre and landscaped gardens.
Karan Solanki on Joining Fairmont Udaipur Palace
"I'm excited to join Fairmont Udaipur Palace and contribute towards building a culture that empowers teams, inspires creativity, and elevates the guest experience through thoughtful learning and genuine service."
— Karan Solanki, Director of Learning and Development, Fairmont Udaipur Palace
