Kalpataru Roy joins Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa as Assistant FOM, bringing experience from Courtyard Kochi, Aravali Marriott and Taj.
CHENNAI — Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa has appointed Kalpataru Roy as Assistant Front Office Manager. Roy is a Sprite to Serve award winner and Certified Departmental Trainer to the 129-key beachfront resort on the East Coast Road at Vedanamelli.
Kalpataru Roy Appointed Assistant Front Office Manager at Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa
In his new role, Roy supports front office operations at Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa, overseeing guest service delivery, front desk inventory management and brand compliance at the beachfront property overlooking the Bay of Bengal. He also takes responsibility for deploying front-of-house training protocols in line with Marriott International's service standards.
A Career Built Across Marriott, Taj and the Hospitality Group at Lalit
Kalpataru Roy's hospitality career spans luxury heritage resorts, corporate hotels and beachfront properties across India. He most recently served as Front Desk Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Kochi Infopark, a 218-key corporate hotel, where he handled daily front desk operations and team management.
Before Kochi, he was part of the pre-opening team at Aravali Marriott Resort and Spa in Faridabad, Haryana, where he worked as a Front Office Executive. Pre-opening roles require setting up operational systems and teams before the first guest arrives, and Roy has that experience behind him from a 158-key resort.
He worked as a Guest Service Associate at Four Points by Sheraton Mahabalipuram Resort and Convention Center. A direct connection to the coastal Tamil Nadu resort environment he now returns to at Sheraton Grand Chennai. Before that, Kalpataru Roy grounded his luxury guest service principles at Taj Ganga Kutir Resort and Spa in Kolkata as a Front Office Assistant.
His professional journey began as an intern with The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group in the Greater Kolkata area. Roy holds a degree from the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism.
