Shuvendu Banerjee promoted to Area General Manager at IHG South West Asia with 25 years across Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and ITC Hotels.

NEW DELHI — IHG Hotels and Resorts has promoted Shuvendu Banerjee to Area General Manager for IHG South West Asia. The promotion pairs with his continued role as General Manager of Holiday Inn New Delhi Aerocity, a position he has held since October 2024.
Banerjee brings over 25 years of hospitality experience and more than 19 years of continuous tenure within the IHG ecosystem across successive property leadership roles in India.
Shuvendu Banerjee Built a 25-Year Career Across IHG and Premium Hotel Brands
He served as General Manager at Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla from June 2021 to October 2024. Before that he led Crowne Plaza Kochi as General Manager for five years, working across luxury resort and corporate guest segments.
His commercial career within IHG covered Director of Sales and Marketing roles at Crowne Plaza Gurugram and Crowne Plaza New Delhi Rohini, and Director of Sales at Crowne Plaza Today Gurugram. Those postings built his revenue and market development foundation across the Delhi NCR market.
Before IHG, he worked as Sales Manager at Radisson Hotel Delhi and Assistant Sales Manager at ITC WelcomGroup, where he helped build a multi-property sales network across 17 hotels. He started his career as a Sales Executive and Management Trainee at Jaypee Hotels, handling embassy and Fortune 500 accounts across Delhi NCR.
Banerjee was named General Manager of the Year 2023 in the Upper Upscale Category North at the BW Hotelier Indian Hospitality Awards. He also received the IHG Impact Award for All Metrics Achieved in 2023.
Academic Background and Professional Credentials
He holds a PGDBM in Marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Distance Learning. He has completed a Strategic Leadership Course from IIM Ahmedabad and senior executive certifications from Cornell University and Harvard University. He is an alumnus of the International Institute of Hotel Management.

Banerjee will oversee multi-property portfolios across South West Asia. His focus covers operational efficiency, stakeholder profitability and talent development across the regional IHG hotel network.
