Vincent Poulingue Named General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Paris Ahead of Major Renovation

Mandarin Oriental has appointed Vincent Poulingue as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Paris, effective 18 May 2026. His appointment comes at a key juncture as the luxury hotel prepares for a comprehensive property-wide transformation programme, marking a significant phase in the evolution of one of Paris’s established hospitality addresses.

Leadership Appointment Aligned with Transformation Plans

Poulingue will assume leadership of the Paris property as it embarks on an extensive renovation initiative designed to reposition and enhance the guest experience. Reporting to Philippe Kronberg, AVP Operations, he will oversee hotel operations during a period of strategic redevelopment while ensuring continuity in service delivery.

The transformation programme will encompass all guestrooms and suites, bathrooms, public areas, spa facilities, and dining outlets. Renovation work is scheduled to begin at the end of October 2026 and will be carried out in phases, allowing the hotel to remain operational throughout the process.

Role Focus on Operational Excellence and Repositioning

In his new role, Poulingue will be responsible for managing overall hotel operations, maintaining service standards, and supporting the execution of the renovation strategy. His remit includes ensuring that the transformation aligns with Mandarin Oriental’s brand positioning while enhancing operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

The redevelopment will introduce new dining concepts, including a bar, a brasserie-style restaurant, and a gourmet dining venue overlooking the hotel’s internal garden. These concepts are being developed by architectural studio Humbert & Poyet, while the redesign of guestrooms and public spaces will be led by architect Tara Bernerd.

Extensive International Hospitality Experience

Poulingue brings over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, with a career spanning multiple international markets. He joins Mandarin Oriental from Hôtel du Palais Biarritz, where he currently serves as General Manager.

His professional background includes leadership roles with globally recognised hospitality groups such as Hyatt’s The Unbound Collection, InterContinental Hotels Group, and Barrière Group. He has held senior positions across France, Portugal, Switzerland, and French Polynesia, developing expertise in repositioning hotels, operational management, and delivering guest-focused service.

He holds an MBA in International Hospitality Management from IMHI, a joint programme of Cornell University and ESSEC Business School, bringing a combination of academic and operational experience to the role.

Strategic Importance of Paris Property

The appointment comes as Mandarin Oriental reinforces its investment in Paris, a key global destination within its portfolio. The renovation programme reflects the group’s broader strategy to enhance existing properties while maintaining high service standards associated with the brand.

According to Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental, the leadership change and transformation initiative underline the company’s commitment to evolving the property while maintaining its position within the luxury hospitality market.

The hotel currently features 96 rooms and 39 suites, along with multiple dining venues, a spa, and wellness facilities, all of which are set to be included in the redevelopment plan.

Poulingue is scheduled to take up his role on 18 May 2026 and will lead Mandarin Oriental, Paris through its upcoming renovation phase. His appointment reflects the group’s focus on experienced leadership to guide the property through a period of transformation while maintaining operational continuity and guest experience standards.
