Ashish Saxena Nominated for India’s 50 Best General Managers 2026

Ashish Saxena, General Manager of Radisson MG Road in New Delhi, has been nominated for India’s 50 Best General Managers 2026, according to an announcement made in April 2026. The nomination recognises his role in leading pre-opening operations, managing hotel performance and overseeing business strategy at the 100-key property.

Nomination and Current Role

The nomination acknowledges Saxena’s current position as General Manager at Radisson MG Road Delhi, a role he assumed in June 2025 after joining the property in October 2021. The hotel operates under Radisson Hotel Group and includes 100 rooms, banquet facilities and food and beverage outlets.

According to the company, he oversees overall hotel operations, including administration, guest services, revenue planning and coordination across departments.

Pre-Opening Leadership and Operational Setup

Saxena was part of the pre-opening phase of the property, leading recruitment, onboarding and training of key staff while establishing operational systems and procedures. He also worked on positioning the hotel in defined target markets and implementing the business plan.

The company said he manages relationships between ownership, asset managers and the management company, ensuring alignment with operational and financial objectives.

Operational Responsibilities and Business Management

He is responsible for budgeting, forecasting and profit and loss performance, along with monitoring revenue streams across rooms, food and beverage and banqueting operations. His role includes overseeing approximately 25,000 square feet of banquet space and multiple service outlets.

He also supervises manpower planning, employee development and operational compliance while maintaining service delivery standards and guest satisfaction metrics.

Career Background and Industry Experience

Saxena has over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, covering operations management, marketing and food and beverage leadership. Prior to his current role, he served as General Manager at Ramada by Wyndham Dehradun from October 2021 to May 2025.

During that tenure, he managed a 52-key property, improved revenue performance and oversaw large-scale events, including official engagements at the Governor House, the company said.

Earlier Roles and Professional Development

Earlier in his career, Saxena held leadership positions with Holiday Inn Mayur Vihar New Delhi, Hyatt Regency Ludhiana, Four Points by Sheraton Dehradun and Radisson Blu Jaipur, primarily in food and beverage management roles. He also worked internationally in Singapore and the United Kingdom in restaurant management.

He holds a degree in Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition from the Institute of Hotel Management, Bhopal. The India’s 50 Best General Managers 2026 awards, organised by Hospitality Career Profile, are currently in the nomination phase, with candidates under evaluation. The process is ongoing.
