BWH Hotels Moga Signs Best Western Property
BWH Hotels Moga signs Best Western Moga in Punjab with 50 rooms, a banquet hall, pool, and dining — opening 2030 on the Barnala–Amritsar Bypass Road.
MOGA, May 20, 2026: BWH Hotels has signed Best Western Moga, a 50-room full-service property on the Barnala–Amritsar Bypass Road in Punjab's Moga district. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2030 and will serve both business and leisure travellers, with facilities that include a banquet hall, landscaped lawns, a bar, a swimming pool, an all-day dining restaurant, and a range of recreational amenities.
Moga is not the kind of city that makes headlines often. It does not have the spiritual pull of Amritsar or the administrative weight of Chandigarh. What it has is something more useful for a hospitality investor: a working economy. The city sits at the intersection of agricultural trade and industrial activity in central Punjab, well connected by road and rail, and consistently underserved by branded accommodation relative to the demand its commercial traffic generates.
What Best Western Moga will offer
The property will offer 50 well-designed guest rooms alongside a vibrant all-day dining restaurant, a stylish bar, and banquet facilities with landscaped lawns suited to weddings and large-format events. A swimming pool and additional recreational facilities round out the offering. The hotel sits approximately 7 km from Moga Railway Station, keeping it accessible without placing it in the congestion of the city centre.
The banquet and lawns setup is a deliberate feature in a market like Moga. Punjab's wedding culture is well documented, large, multi-day celebrations that require substantial venue infrastructure. A hotel that can host the ceremony, the guests, and the dinners in a single location, with a branded name that families can confidently present on an invitation, fills a gap that smaller independent properties cannot always close convincingly.
Why BWH Hotels is pushing into markets like Moga
Atul Jain, Chief Operating Officer, BWH Hotels for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, framed the Moga signing as part of a clear strategic direction: move beyond metros, find the cities where branded hospitality has not yet arrived, and get there first.
"This signing marks another key milestone in our growth across Northern India. Expanding into emerging cultural and business destinations like Moga reflects our focus on strengthening presence beyond metros and tapping into high-potential regional markets."
— Atul Jain, Chief Operating Officer, BWH Hotels for India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka
That strategy has a logic to it that the data supports. India's metro hotel markets, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, are crowded with inventory and deal with intensely competitive rate environments. Secondary and tertiary cities, by contrast, often have only a handful of branded options, sometimes none, and they draw a consistent flow of regional business travellers, government officials, traders, and families who would prefer a known brand but currently have no choice but to settle for independent properties of uneven quality.
The owner's view: a new standard for Moga
Yash Chadha, Owner, Best Western Moga, said the partnership with BWH Hotels is aimed at changing what hospitality looks like in the district.
"We are delighted to partner with Best Western for our property in Moga. This partnership will create a new standard of hospitality in the region and offer a preferred venue for weddings, events, and extended stays."
— Yash Chadha, Owner, Best Western Moga
The phrase "new standard" is one owners use often when announcing branded partnerships, but in Moga's case it carries more weight than usual. A full-service hotel with a pool, banquet infrastructure, and an internationally recognised brand name on the Barnala–Amritsar highway is a genuinely different offer from what currently exists in that market.
BWH Hotels' growing footprint across India
The BWH Hotels India pipeline has been expanding steadily in 2026. The group recently signed a Best Western property in Mathura, a resort in Corbett in Uttarakhand, and a property in Almora marking its entry into the Kumaon region, all within the past few months. The Moga signing adds Punjab's commercial interior to that growing map.
Together, these signings trace a deliberate pattern: heritage and pilgrimage cities, nature destinations, agricultural hubs. It is a portfolio being built for the India that exists outside the top eight metro areas, the one that has been growing quietly, generating demand, and waiting for brands to notice. BWH Hotels, in Moga as elsewhere, is noticing.
