Kanakam Praveen Kumar joins Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai as DOSM with 19 years across Marriott, Lemon Tree and Royal Orchid Hotels.

NAVI MUMBAI — Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai has appointed Kanakam Praveen Kumar as Director of Sales and Marketing. He brings over 19 years of hospitality sales experience across Marriott International, Lemon Tree Hotels, Royal Orchid Hotels and Starwood Hotels.
Kumar is a Marriott Presidents Circle achiever. He joins from Le Meridien Nagpur, where he served as Director of Sales and Marketing.
Kanakam Praveen Kumar Built a 19-Year Sales Career Across Major Hotel Groups
Within Marriott International he held a continuous tenure of nearly nine years. He served as Director of Sales at Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel before his Le Meridien Nagpur role. Before that he was Associate Director of Sales at Sheraton Hyderabad, where he also managed task force projects at Fairfield by Marriott Coimbatore.
He started at Sheraton Hyderabad as Senior Sales Manager as part of the property's pre-opening team under SAMHI. That pre-opening experience gave him direct exposure to building a sales function from the ground up before a hotel launches.
At Lemon Tree Hotels he served as Assistant Director of Sales in Hyderabad. He received a Certificate of Appreciation at the Hotelier India Awards in 2016 during his tenure there.
At Royal Orchid Hotels he progressed from Assistant Sales Manager to Regional Sales Manager to Senior Sales Manager across Hyderabad and Ahmedabad over nearly four years. He also held Assistant Manager Sales at St Laurn Hotels in Ahmedabad.
Kanakam Praveen Kumar started his sales career as a Management Trainee at Le Meridien Hotel Ahmedabad under Starwood Hotels and Resorts. He is an alumnus of the National Academy of Planning and Business Management.
What the Role Covers at Courtyard Navi Mumbai
As Director of Sales and Marketing, Kumar will lead commercial strategy across corporate, MICE and leisure segments. His focus covers demand generation, customer acquisition and distribution across the Navi Mumbai market.
