Izhavia Takes Aviation Regulator to Court Over AOC
Russia's Izhavia has sued Rosaviatsiya after its Air Operator Certificate was revoked over unresolved safety deficiencies, grounding the airline's commercial flights.

Russian regional airline Izhavia has filed a lawsuit against the country's aviation regulator, Rosaviatsiya, seeking to overturn the cancellation of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) after its operating licence was revoked over unresolved safety management deficiencies.
The legal challenge follows Rosaviatsiya's decision to suspend the airline's commercial operations from August 1, citing the carrier's failure to address safety concerns identified during regulatory oversight.
According to the airline, the regulator's actions were unlawful, and the lawsuit seeks to restore its operating rights and allow commercial services to resume.
Rosaviatsiya had previously warned Izhavia to strengthen its safety management systems and regulatory compliance. After determining that the deficiencies remained unresolved, the regulator revoked the airline's AOC, effectively grounding its scheduled passenger operations.
The case now moves to the courts, where Izhavia will attempt to overturn the regulator's decision while its commercial flights remain suspended.
