Air Congo, the national airline of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), is considering the Boeing 737 MAX as part of its plans to expand its regional network and modernize its fleet.
The airline is exploring the possibility of introducing the next‑generation narrowbody aircraft to support future growth across Central and West Africa. The Boeing 737 MAX offers improved fuel efficiency, longer range, and lower operating costs compared with older aircraft models.
Air Congo currently operates a smaller fleet primarily focused on domestic and regional services. Expanding with the 737 MAX could allow the carrier to open new routes and strengthen connections between key African cities.
Fleet modernization is an important step for many African airlines seeking to improve reliability, reduce fuel consumption, and compete more effectively in regional markets. Aircraft such as the 737 MAX are increasingly attractive because of their operational efficiency and passenger capacity.
