CHANGSHA, China, June 19, 2026 — The Chinese reality program "Chinese Restaurant" returns for its 10th season on June 19, with a new run titled Nanyang Memories that follows seven celebrity partners as they set up a restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Broadcaster MGTV said the season airs Fridays at noon Beijing time on Mango TV and at 10 p.m. on Hunan TV.
The Chinese Restaurant show first aired in 2017 and has run for nine seasons, built around celebrities operating a Chinese eatery overseas. The new season marks a decade of the franchise, which MGTV said it is celebrating as a 10th-anniversary milestone.
The return brings one of China's longest-running food variety programs back to Thailand, where the series began.

The Nanyang Memories season is set in Chiang Mai, and MGTV said its premiere episode coincides with the Dragon Boat Festival. The broadcaster said the seven partners begin a new venture there, navigating operational challenges and cultural differences.
The announced cast includes Huang Xiaoming, Wang Junkai, Hannah Quinlivan, Jiang Yan, Jin Mengjia, Zhang Yaqi and chef Lin Shuwei.
New formats anchor a decade of Chinese cuisine abroad
MGTV said the season introduces a business model drawn from traditional Chinese agricultural practice, pairing a rural setting with contemporary Chinese dining. It said new service concepts, billed as "Chef's Table" and "Chef at Home," give guests different ways to experience the food.
The broadcaster said the program's aim has stayed consistent across its run: presenting Chinese cooking and stories to audiences outside China.
From Thailand to Europe: the show's overseas run
Across earlier seasons, the program filmed in countries including Thailand, France, Italy and Hungary. MGTV said it ran a Chinese food truck in France and framed its Italy and Hungary seasons around cultural exchange between China and the host nations.
The broadcaster described the show as a platform for cultural dialogue between China and other countries, using food as a shared language. Those characterizations reflect the program's own positioning.
Further detail on the broadcast appears on the Mango TV website.
