MANGALURU, June 05, 2026 — The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) today opened its Mangaluru and Western Karnataka Chapter, expanding its regional presence to represent restaurants across the coastal and Malnad districts.
The new chapter aims to provide structured industry support, policy advocacy and operational guidance to food service businesses in the region, which has seen steady growth in organised dining and tourism-linked hospitality.
National Restaurant Association of India Mangaluru Chapter expands regional reach
The launch marks NRAI’s entry into one of Karnataka’s key food destinations, covering Mangaluru, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and neighbouring districts. Industry members said the chapter will help streamline dialogue with local authorities and improve compliance awareness.
NRAI said the regional body will focus on issues such as licensing processes, food safety standards, workforce training and sustainability practices relevant to small and mid-sized restaurant operators.
Focus on collaboration and industry development
The association plans to conduct workshops, stakeholder meetings and skill development programmes through the chapter. These initiatives are expected to address operational challenges faced by independent restaurants and regional chains.
NRAI represents thousands of restaurants across India and works with state and central governments on policy matters affecting the hospitality sector. More details about its initiatives are available on the official website of National Restaurant Association of India.
