IFS Officer Puneet Agrawal Appointed as India’s Ambassador to Thailand

  Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Puneet Agrawal has been appointed as India’s Ambassador to Thailand, marking a significant diplomatic posting aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

 Agrawal, a senior IFS officer, brings extensive experience in international diplomacy and foreign policy matters.

    His appointment reflects the Ministry of External Affairs’ continued focus on deepening strategic, economic, and cultural cooperation with Southeast Asian nations. India and Thailand share strong historical, cultural, and economic linkages, with collaboration spanning trade, connectivity, maritime security, and regional forums.

   As Ambassador, Agrawal will be responsible for advancing India’s diplomatic priorities, fostering economic engagement, and enhancing people-to-people exchanges.

     The appointment comes at a time when India is intensifying its outreach under the Act East policy, with Thailand playing a key role in regional connectivity initiatives and Indo-Pacific cooperation.
